I Don't Always Have Time to Read. But When I Do...
I Read About the Raleigh, Cary, Apex Area...

Right now I'm working with some great buyer clients who are looking for a historical home in the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area.
There is just something about these historic turn of the century homes that really makes me lucky to be a Realtor.
I mean, after all, I get to go inside all of them and see the beautiful architecture, original hardwoods, and craftsmanship that's often mimicked, but never truly duplicated in today's homes.
Anyway, for the past few weeks, I've been reading some history books abut the Raleigh, Cary, Apex area, and I've really been learning even more about this wonderful area I call home.
It turns out that the Raleigh, Cary, Apex area is rich in history and there are so many beautiful historic homes to choose from.
Many of my clients are typically looking for new construction or, at least, newer homes.
So when I have the opportunity to show historic homes, I truly enjoy making the appointments to go see them, because...

Craig, I also love the historic Franklin TN homes some of which date back to pre-civil war. We are fortunate that we have a such a great variety of homes for buyers. Some of the history you will find on these homes is just fascinating.
Interesting photo of the reader and a fantastic looking home in the picture. You certainly have a good choice of areas to read about. The Raleigh and surrounding areas are lovely with a lot to offer.
Betty
Craig- you are so right... many of our larger big box homes are missing the special details of the historic homes. and BTW.. no Kindle?
There is definitely a lot of history in your area. Much more so than many other parts of the country. The picture of this beautiful home just goes to remind us that new isn't necessarily better, just different.
Craig: Knowing not just about the real estate inventory but about the history surrounding the homes will be a big hit with your buyers.
Craig, I absolutely agree that historic homes are something special and it shows when they have been well cared for over the years.
Craig, I love Historic Homes, I find it is a Crime to let our country's young history be demolished, which I see here in Los Angeles all the time. Sad that we do not have too many 250+ year old buildings unlike in Europe where Preservation is High Priority!
The craftsmanship of the historic homes can be quite astounding. I just don't tire venturing through home after home. That sure is a beautiful home in your blog Craig. I bet it is even more magnificent in person.
Craig, you are doing all the things that help you be an expert in your area. Your clients are so very lucky to be working with you.
John - I like it! I just might have to use that line!
Tammie - Every home tells a story. The historic ones always have great history behind them.
Betty - That home is one of my favorites. It's one of many in the historic section of Apex, NC.
Kathy - No Kindle here Kathy. But I do have a CraigPad....
Doug - You said it best with this line: "....new isn't necessarily better, just different."
Anita - It's just one more thing that I can bring to the table, especially for my relocating buyer clients.
Nick - I love the architecture of the old historic homes. They just don't make 'em like that anymore!
Endre - It's so sad when we lose these historic homes to new construction. I understand you can't stop progress. But these are a piece of our history that's lost forever once they're gone.
Laura - As a home stager I'll bet you would have a field day with one of these historic homes. Maybe one day when if you come to visit Amy again you guys can make a day trip this way and I'll show you guys around the historic sections of the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area.
Vickie - Thank you Vickie! I do try every day to better myself... not only for me, but for my clients as well.
Craig, We know you are familiar with all the properties in Raleigh/Cary/Apex, just hope you were "Parked" while you were reading!
Larry & Sheila - I was definitely parked while reading up on the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area! No texting, reading, or drinking while driving for me.
Craig, one of the coolest old homes I was ever in was Cardinal Cody's home (at the time in the late '60's or early '70's) in Chicago...I've never seen more woodwork that wasn't knotty pine in any one home...just as a side note his home was just across the street from Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion...an odd juxtaposition.
Craig, You just get around, I mean to have a CraigPad, Wow!
Nice to see that you visit those older homes in your vintage car...sets a really nice tone!
Gloria
Nick - OK, there's a definite case where fences make good neighbors!
Gloria - Oh, you mean this vintage car?...
or this one?....
