Google Doodles, Peter Max... and My Daughter Laura. Another Proud Dad Moment...

For those of you who've been following my blogs, you might know by now that I occasionally like to play around with Photoshop.

You might also know that I'm a big fan of my daughter Laura.

Well, my dear readers, despite the fact that she'll often roll her eyes at some of the "creations" I've come up with over the years, Laura has taken a liking to Photoshop too! Go figure!!!

This semester at Apex High School, Laura has an Art History class.

Her first assignment was to create a Google Doodle, entirely from scratch.

You know the ones. They're on Google's home page and they depict the day's event, be it historical, or a famous person's birthday, or a unique achievement.

Some of these doodles are just pictures, but some are interactive, like this one for John Lennon's birthday:

In any case, Laura was inspired to make her Google Doodle by the autographed Peter Max lithograph I have hanging in my office.

So, without further ado, I bring to you, a Google Doodle created in Photoshop by my daughter Laura Rutman...

Now, I might be a bit biased here, but I gotta tell you folks, I think she did an amazing job with her Google Doodle, and, I'm pretty certain she'll be getting an A+ for this one!

You Have to Suffer if You Want to Sing the Blues!!!



For those of you who've been following my blogs, you know by now that you need to seek help!!!

You also know that I'm a huge fan of the Blues.

I'm in a constant struggle to learn how to play guitar, I keep a harmonica in my glove compartment, and my playlist is like a who's who of the Blues.

And, as much as I love being your Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area Real Estate agent, my real goal in life is to be a black blues musician like B. B. King, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf or John Lee Hooker.

I'd even settle to be a white Blues musician like Eric Clapton, Roy Buchanan or Stevie Ray Vaughan!

Anyway, with that being said, last night, in my endless quest to visit every web site ever created, I came across this fun little "Blues Name" chart.

Now, personally, I was going to go with Craig "Tone Deaf" Rutman for my Blues name.

But, according to this Blues Name chart, my new name will now be...

Sticky Lips Jefferson!

So, my dear readers, It's time to have some fun.

And the Giants are headed to the Super Bowl!!!

Today, your humble Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area Real Estate agent is basking in the glory of his New York Giants victory over the San Francisco 49ers!

Yes, my dear readers, my New York Giants are headed to Super Bowl XLVI on February 5th, 2012.

Perhaps it was my Pulitzer Prize worthy blog from yesterday:

Perhaps it was the fact that I was glued to my TV cheering my team on to victory.

While I will always guide my Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area home buying clients towards making an informed decision, ultimately which house they choose to call home is a decision only they can make.

There have been many times throughout my Real Estate career that I didn't like a floor plan or an exterior of a home. But my clients loved everything about it.

So, since I (most likely) won't be living with them, if the home is priced right and "passes" inspections, if that's the one they want, that's the one I'll help them purchase.

Great New Tool... And a Pretty Funny Ad to Promote It!

The other day, while checking on one of my new construction sales in the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area, I watched as the framing package was delivered to the site.

Considering my size, and coming to the conclusion that I'm built for comfort and not physical labor, I gazed at the massive amounts of 2x4's, trusses, and plywood being unloaded off the truck.

Then I watched as men, who were clearly much stronger than your humble Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area Real Estate agent, move things that I could never even dream of attempting.

In fact, I think I pulled my back out just watching them!

Anyway, as I typically do each night when you, my dear readers, are all tucked away in your beds, I continued on my quest to visit every web site ever created.

I came across this video for a tool to carry plywood.

It's pretty funny stuff and I thought you might appreciate seeing it.

Be a Model... Or Just Look Like One With Photoshop!!!

OK, my dear readers, for those of you who follow my daily blog posts, you know that I love playing around with Photoshop.

For those of you who aren't subscribed to my blog, I'll deal with you later!

On a normal day, whatever that is, I use Photoshop to enhance my Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area listing photographs. Color correction, cropping adjustments, and the like.

But at night, while devouring a bag of pretzels, my personal vice, I'm "creating" all sorts of silly pictures.

It's my way of unwinding at the end of the day.

Anyway, while on my continuing quest of trying to visit every web site ever created, I came across this little spoof about Photoshop.

Naturally, since this is a passion of mine, I found it quite funny.

I hope you will too.

OK, my dear readers, it doesn't always have to be like this, and it isn't.

But all too often Real Estate transactions can get a little, shall we say, contentious?

Now, I'm a firm believer that it's always better to try to work things out diplomatically.

However, it doesn't always work out that way.

So, it's during these transactions that you need a Real Estate agent who has the negotiating skills, and the tools at their disposal, to protect your best interests... and your money.
